About 12 miles southwest of Barcelona, is the seaside town of Castelldefels. Boasting a long golden sandy beach of more than 5km and well-known for being the place of residence of many famous sportsmen such as Leo Messi and Luis Suarez (who we’re lucky enough to spot at the school gates with every day!).
The town has great transport links to the airport and into central Barcelona, and offers pretty much everything you need, with a selection of shops, bars and restaurants.
It’s also the site of the ancient castle of Fels, from which the town takes its name, and the 16th century medieval defence towers, Can Ballester and Barona tower.
Castelldefels has a typical Mediterranean climate, with hot and dry summers, during the spring and autumn the region can receive quite a bit of rain and some spectacular storms.
We chose Castelldefels as our home. I love the hustle and bustle of Barcelona, but you can’t beat living right by the beach and immersing yourself in the local culture.
